Hard Cup Jock

Hard Cup Jock
I have a cup, does it need a strap?

I dont exactly understand what a jock strap is, and i have a cup. The cup is just a hard cup with no strap, and i but it on under some boxer briefs. It stays in play okay but i just dont know. Middle School Football

Yes, you need either a jockstrap meant for a cup or compression shorts with a cup pocket in them.

You do not want to wear a cup inside boxers because they won’t hold it in place for you, and you should not wear the cup up against your skin anyway. Even with jockstraps, it’s important that it’s the type of jock with the pocket for the cup. You don’t want to wear it inside a regular jock because then it would be up against your skin. If you did you would have sweat pooling between the cup and your skin which would lead to you getting jock itch – like athlete’s foot on your crotch. Also if your junk is sitting up against the cup, then the shock of an impact can pass through to your balls.

The cup pocket keeps cloth between you and the cup so sweat is wicked away, and it holds your balls back from the inside of the cup so there is a gap between them.

At some sporting goods stores you can buy the cup and the cup jock together or separately. So if you already have the cup then you can just buy the strap. But make sure it’s a cup strap.

Don’t listen to anyone who says cups cause injuries. If worn the right way there is no way you can be injured by the cup. But also they are not bullet proof or anything. A bad enough impact can still hurt you, but you will still be hurt less than if you weren’t wearing a cup.

If you’re not sure how a jockstrap with a cup looks, you can check some out at this site:
